So, last night at midnight I went and watched the advanced screening of M. Night Shamylan's movie The Last Airbender based on the Nickelodeon anime series, and since I was a big fan of the animated series I was hesitant but super psyched to see the live action version! From the beginning of the movie something just felt super wrong! First problem: Its like they just jumped right into the movie without any character development or background info. The whole movie was just moving waaayyyy too fast! Second problem: The acting in this movie was soooo bad! I read an interview with M. Night about the movie and he explained that he did not have the lead actor (Noah Ringer) take acting lessons even though this was the first time he has ever acted!!! So I knew the acting would be rough but it was just embarressing! Third problem: The action and fight scenes could have been so much better. In the anime the characters were so much stronger, but in the movie everyone seemed very weak! So in a nutshell the movie was one of the biggest disappointments of the year, I do not recommend that anyone watch this movie, especially if you followed and were a fan of the animated series! 2.5/10
